Remind people before a trial or renewal charges
When a trial or introductory price of over 7 days ends, send a reminder 7 days before. Give the amount, date and a cancel link. Send one before each yearly renewal too.
How to do it
Visa's rules for trials and introductory offers, in force since April 2020, ask for this reminder at least 7 days before the first charge. For a trial of 7 days or less, put the same details in the signup confirmation. Confirm the current wording with your acquirer, since Visa publishes these rules to members only. California requires a yearly reminder with the renewal interval, the amount and how to cancel. Schedule reminders from the period end the provider reports. Log each send with the subscription and period, so a rerun never sends twice.
How to check
Use a test clock to move a trial to 8 days before its end. One reminder goes out with the amount, date and cancel link. Running the job again sends nothing.
