Required
Act on orders from authorities within their deadline
TNS-6Take orders from authorities through one monitored address that reaches a person at any hour. Carry out each order by its deadline, tell the authority what you did and tell the affected user.
Report child sexual abuse material and keep the evidence
TNS-7When users can upload images or video, match uploads against hash lists of known abuse material. Report every confirmed item to the body your law names, and keep it locked away for the period the law sets.
Recommended
Warn before you suspend and count every strike
TNS-8Give each confirmed violation a strike that expires after a fixed time. Warn at the first strike, and suspend for a fixed period only when strikes pass the limit. Treat people who often send baseless reports the same way.
Hide removed content and keep it until appeals close
TNS-9When you remove an item, hide it from everyone except the case reviewers and keep it unchanged until the appeal window closes. Then delete it, unless an order or a law makes you keep it.
Have a second person decide each appeal
TNS-10Give every appeal to a moderator who did not make the first decision. Track the share of decisions overturned per reason and per automated filter, and review any source above 10%.
