Put a report button on every piece of user content
TNS-1Show a report control on every post, comment, profile, message, listing and upload that another user wrote. It opens a short form that already knows which item it is about.
Write the moderation policy as one table of reasons and actions
TNS-2Keep the content rules as one versioned table in the code. Each row names a reason, its severity, the default action and the legal or contract ground.
Gather every report and flag in one queue
TNS-3Turn user reports, automated flags, notices and authority orders into cases in one queue. Keep one open case per item, however many reports it gets.
Work the queue in order of harm and deadline
TNS-4Sort open cases by severity first and due time second. Give each severity a target time to decide, and alert when the oldest case in a severity passes it.
Limit what moderators must see of harmful content
TNS-5Blur images and mute videos in the moderation tool until the moderator chooses to reveal them. Cap each moderator's hours on severity 1 queues per day.
