Treat AI answers as search results

Earn a place in AI answers, such as Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode or Microsoft Copilot, with the same SEO as ordinary results. Keep each page indexed and allowed a text snippet.

How to do it

Google says AI Overviews and AI Mode have no extra requirements and need no special optimisation, files or schema.org markup. A page must be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet to be linked. Bing says its ordinary SEO basics also decide which pages ground Copilot answers. So nosnippet or max-snippet:0 keeps a page out of these answers, as Choose what search and AI answers may quote says. Files such as llms.txt help other AI tools read your site, as Give AI tools a site guide says, but Google does not need them. Crawler access for AI training is a separate choice, set as Decide what each AI crawler may do says.

How to check

A test fetches every page in the keyword map. None carries noindex, nosnippet or max-snippet:0 in its robots meta tag or X-Robots-Tag, unless it is on the list of limited pages.
