Invoices and records Required
Keep payment records for the legal period
Keep invoices, credit notes and ledger rows for the longest bookkeeping period of the countries you report in, and keep them out of account deletion.
How to do it
Bookkeeping laws set the period, such as 7 years in Sweden and 10 years in France. Germany shortened the period for invoices and receipts from 10 to 8 years in 2025. GDPR Article 17(3)(b) lets you keep data that a legal duty requires, even after an erasure request. Delete the rest of the personal data and keep the bookkeeping, as in retention jobs.
How to check
Delete a test account with paid orders. The invoices and ledger rows remain, and the profile data is gone. The retention job removes records older than the period.
