Claim and complete your business profile
When you meet customers at a place or at their address, claim and verify a business profile, such as Google Business Profile or Bing Places. Fill in the name, category, address or service area, hours, phone, website and photos.
How to do it
Google ranks local results by relevance, distance and prominence. It says complete and accurate profiles are more likely to show, and that nobody can pay for a better local ranking. Its guidelines set the profile rules. Use the name customers see on your sign and documents, with no slogan, keywords, hours or phone number added. A business that serves customers at their address hides its street address and sets a service area. Post office boxes and virtual offices are not allowed, and each business gets one profile. Keep holiday hours current. Break these rules and Google can suspend the profile. Keep the same details everywhere, as Use the same name and address everywhere says.
How to check
The profile shows as verified. Its name and hours equal those on the site's contact page. It has a primary category and at least one photo.
