Serve phones the same content
Give phone visitors the same content, links, metadata and structured data as desktop visitors. Google indexes the phone version of every page.
How to do it
Use one responsive page for every screen. Never drop text, links, images or JSON-LD on narrow screens. If content folds away on phones, keep it in the HTML, such as inside <details>. Never serve a separate cut-down mobile page. Fold content as Let find-in-page open hidden text says.
Examples
Shell example
ua_phone='Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 14; Pixel 8) Mobile'
diff <(curl -s -A "$ua_phone" https://example.com/pricing | grep -o '<a href="[^"]*"' | sort) \
<(curl -s https://example.com/pricing | grep -o '<a href="[^"]*"' | sort)
How to check
Fetch each page type once with a phone user agent and once with a desktop one. The h1, link count, canonical and JSON-LD match.
