Group order lines into shipments
Model each parcel as a shipment that holds one or more order lines, with its own carrier, tracking number and delivery state. An order can have many shipments, and a line belongs to one shipment at a time.
How to do it
Split shipments happen whenever items come from two warehouses, two sellers or two dates. Storing one tracking number on the order loses all but one parcel. Each shipment carries its label, tracking number, weight and the lines in it. Line states move when their shipment moves, so a carrier event for one parcel never marks the whole order delivered. An EU order delivered in parts starts its withdrawal period on the last delivery, as Start the withdrawal period when the last item arrives explains.
How to check
A test ships one order in two parcels and marks only the first delivered. The order shows "partly delivered", one line is delivered and the other is shipped. Each parcel has its own tracking link in the customer's order page.
