Accessibility Avoid

Fix the site instead of adding overlays

Never install an accessibility overlay widget. Fix the site itself.

How to do it

Remove any overlay script. Fix contrast, labels, structure and keyboard use in the site itself. Overlays do not make a site meet WCAG, and they often get in the way of screen readers.

How to check

A test lists every script host the pages load. None is on a kept list of known overlay vendors, such as accessiBe, UserWay, AudioEye and EqualWeb.
