Send invoices to Nordic public buyers over Peppol
If you sell to public bodies in Sweden, Norway, Denmark or Finland, send their invoices as EN 16931 e-invoices. Use a Peppol access point or the national network.
How to do it
Sweden has required suppliers to send e-invoices to public buyers since 1 April 2019. Norway's public buyers must receive them, and suppliers on larger contracts must send them in the EHF format, which is based on Peppol. Danish public buyers receive them through NemHandel, which follows the Peppol model. In Finland, a business with more than 10,000 euros in yearly turnover may demand e-invoices from its suppliers. Buy access through an invoicing service rather than joining Peppol yourself. Store each buyer's Peppol ID and order reference, since public buyers reject invoices without them. Track B2B dates in Send e-invoices where the law requires them.
How to check
A test sends a sample invoice for each Nordic public buyer through the service's validator, and each passes. An invoice without the buyer's order reference is refused before sending.
