Build with the SDK the stores require
Track each store's build and target deadlines in your release calendar. Move to the new SDK at least 60 days before the date.
How to do it
Since April 28, 2026, uploads to App Store Connect must be built with Xcode 26 or later and the iOS 26 SDK. Since September 9, 2026, iOS apps must target iOS 13 or later. From August 31, 2026, new Android apps and updates must target Android 16, API level 36. Existing Android apps that target below API level 35 are hidden from new users on newer Android versions. Check both stores' requirement pages each quarter. Cross-platform apps also need the framework release that supports the new SDK. Upgrade it as pick software that still ships releases explains.
How to check
The release calendar lists each store deadline in the next 12 months. Every production build targets the newest API level that Google Play requires and uses the Xcode version Apple requires.
