WEB-15Optional
Say in DNS if a domain is for sale
Only if a domain is for sale, say so with a TXT record at _for-sale, as RFC 10023 describes. Otherwise publish nothing.
How to do it
Start the record with v=FORSALE1;. Add one content tag, such as furi= with a contact address or ftxt= with short text. Keep each record under 255 bytes. Remove the record once the domain is sold or off the market. Keep the record with the others, as Keep DNS records in code says.
Examples
Plain text example
_for-sale.example.com. 3600 IN TXT "v=FORSALE1;furi=https://example.com/domain-sale"
Shell example
dig +short TXT _for-sale.example.com
How to check
dig +short TXT _for-sale.example.com returns a record starting v=FORSALE1; while the domain is for sale, and nothing otherwise.
