Accessibility Required
Let people check before they commit
Before a purchase, a legal commitment, or a change or deletion of stored data, let people review and fix, confirm, or undo. This is WCAG criterion 3.3.4 (AA).
How to do it
Show a review step with every entered value and an edit link before the final submit. Or ask for confirmation, or offer undo for a stated time. Do this for every payment, contract, test answer and account deletion. See also let people undo or confirm destructive actions.
Example
<h2>Check your order</h2>
<dl>
<dt>Delivery address</dt><dd>12 High Street <a href="/checkout/address">Change</a></dd>
<dt>Total</dt><dd>€48.00</dd>
</dl>
<button type="submit">Place order</button>
How to check
A browser test runs each such flow. Before the final action it finds a review step, a confirmation or an undo control.
