# Affiliate pages with nothing of your own

For AI agents: the [site map](https://agentwranglers.se/llms.txt) lists everything here, and this page sits under [Search spam and penalties](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/seo/search-spam-and-penalties.md).

- ID: SEO-56
- Level: Avoid
- Chapter: [Search spam and penalties](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/seo/search-spam-and-penalties.md)
- Rule: Affiliate pages that copy the merchant's product text and add nothing of your own. Examples are product lists from a feed and reviews of things you never used.
- Check: A build test compares each affiliate page with the merchant's feed text and finds less than 50% of the page's three-word sequences in the feed. Each affiliate page has at least one photo, test result or comparison table of your own.
- How: Google's spam policies call this thin affiliation. Affiliate pages that add value are fine, such as original reviews, your own tests, comparisons or price history. Bing says sites that mainly send visitors to retailers without unique reviews, comparisons or analysis may lose visibility or be removed. Label every affiliate link, as [Label every paid link](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/seo/links-from-other-sites/disclose-paid-links.md) says.
