Price data transfer and per-request charges before launch

Before launch, estimate the monthly bill at 1, 10 and 100 times the expected traffic. Include data sent out, each request, each function call and each build, not only servers.

How to do it

Data transfer charges depend on where data goes and how much of it moves. Teams often leave them out of the first estimate. Large files and images cost the most, so serve them from storage or a content delivery network with a lower price per gigabyte. A bot or a loop multiplies charges per request, so set the platform's spend cap or maximum instances. Budgets and alerts are in Give every account a budget with alerts. The monthly review is in Watch what the service costs.

How to check

A cost model lists every charge with its unit price and the date it was read, at the three traffic levels. Every paid platform has a spend cap or a maximum instance count set.
