Retry until the receiver accepts
Treat any answer other than 2xx as a failure, and retry with growing gaps for a documented time.
How to do it
Wait at most 15 seconds for each answer, and don't follow redirects. Retry for at least 24 hours, with backoff and jitter. Then mark the endpoint as failing and tell its owner. Let receivers replay missed events from an events list.
How to check
Point a test webhook at an endpoint that answers 500. The sender retries with growing gaps, and the event can be fetched afterwards.
