# Open links in your iOS app

- Rule: If you have an iOS app, publish `/.well-known/apple-app-site-association` so links open in it.
- How: Serve the JSON as `application/json`, over HTTPS, without a redirect and without a file ending. List the app IDs and the paths the app handles. Apple fetches the file through its own CDN, so changes can take a day or more to reach devices.
- Check: `curl https://app-site-association.cdn-apple.com/a/v1/example.com` returns your current file. A link to a listed path opens the app on iOS.
