# Link every page from another

By Erik Bergstedt, Agent Wranglers. Updated 2026-10-20.

- Level: Recommended
- Chapter: [SEO](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/website/seo)
- Rule: Link every page from others with `` links and text that says where they go, so no page is left orphaned.
- How: Link every page from at least one other page and from a site-wide place, such as the navigation or footer. Use link text that names the destination. Search engines follow only `` elements with an `href`, not script click handlers.
- Check: A crawler starting at the home page and following only `` links reaches every page in the sitemap.

Example:

```html
See our website review
Click here
```
