# Never use flashing content

- Rule: Never show anything that flashes more than three times in one second. This is WCAG criterion 2.3.1 (A).
- How: Keep blinking and flashing out of animations, videos and GIFs. Check videos with a flash analysis tool, such as PEAT, before publishing.
- Check: A search of the stylesheets finds no repeating animation shorter than 333 ms that changes opacity, colour or visibility. Every published video passes a flash analysis tool.
