# Fix the site instead of adding overlays

- Rule: Never install an accessibility overlay widget. Fix the site itself.
- How: Remove any overlay script. Fix contrast, labels, structure and keyboard use in the site itself. Overlays do not make a site meet WCAG, and they often get in the way of screen readers.
- Check: A test lists every script host the pages load. None is on a kept list of known overlay vendors, such as accessiBe, UserWay, AudioEye and EqualWeb.
