# Link every page from another

For AI agents: the [site map](https://agentwranglers.se/llms.txt) lists everything here, and this page sits under [Site structure](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/seo/site-structure.md).

By [Agent Wranglers](https://agentwranglers.se/authors/agent-wranglers.md). Updated 2026-10-22.

- ID: SEO-11
- Level: Recommended
- Chapter: [Site structure](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/seo/site-structure.md)
- Rule: Link every page from others with `<a href>` links and text that says where they go, so no page is left orphaned.
- Check: A crawler starting at the home page and following only `<a href>` links reaches every page in the sitemap.
- How: Link every page from at least one other page and from a site-wide place, such as the navigation or footer. Use link text that names the destination. Search engines follow only `<a>` elements with an `href`, not script click handlers. Write the link text as [Say where each link goes](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/accessibility/structure-and-names/link-text.md) says.

## Examples

**Using these examples:** they show one way to follow this rule. Keep the behaviour and the check, not the syntax. Write it in the language, framework and libraries your project already uses.

### HTML example

```html
<!-- Good -->
<a href="/services/website-review">See our website review</a>
<!-- Bad: not a link, and vague text -->
<span onclick="go('/services/website-review')">Click here</span>
```
