# Refund EU withdrawals within 14 days

- Rule: When an EU consumer withdraws from a contract, refund every payment, including standard delivery, within 14 days of being told, on the same payment method.
- How: Article 13 of the Consumer Rights Directive sets this deadline. For goods, you may wait until they come back or the customer shows proof of sending them. Deduct only what the law allows, such as the share of a service the customer asked to start early. Store the date the withdrawal arrived. Alert on day 10 when no refund exists.
- Check: A daily query lists withdrawals older than 10 days without a refund. It returns no rows.
