# Plan for losing a provider

- Rule: Know what you do if your host, region, DNS or email provider fails for a day, and keep what you need to switch.
- How: Keep infrastructure as code, so you can rebuild elsewhere. Keep a copy of the backups and the DNS zone with another provider. Hold a short game day each year to walk through the plan.
- Check: The plan names a second place to run, and the last game day is less than a year old.
