# Show an unsubscribe link in the message

- Rule: Put a clear unsubscribe link in the body of every marketing message, not only in the headers.
- How: Place it in the footer in readable text, next to who sent the mail and why the person receives it. Some mail apps do not show the header button. US law (CAN-SPAM) also requires a valid postal address in every marketing message.
- Check: A test message shows an unsubscribe link in the body that works without logging in, and the footer shows the sender's postal address.
