# Point replies to a mailbox someone reads

By Erik Bergstedt, Agent Wranglers. Updated 2026-10-20.

- Level: Recommended
- Chapter: [Message basics](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/email/message-basics)
- Rule: Send from an address that accepts replies, or set `Reply-To` to one that does. Never send from an address that bounces.
- How: People reply to receipts and alerts, so a dead `noreply@` address loses questions. If the sending address cannot take mail, add `Reply-To` with a monitored mailbox. Use `Sender` only when one person sends on behalf of another, as RFC 5322 describes. Route replies to support, or to a system that files them against the order. Answer or acknowledge within a business day.
- Check: Reply to a test message. The reply arrives in a mailbox the team reads, and no bounce comes back.

Example:

```text
From: Example Shop <orders@example.com>
Reply-To: Example Shop Support <help@example.com>
```
