# Make email text easy to read

- Rule: Set body text to at least 16 pixels, with a line height of at least 1.4 and a content column no wider than 600 pixels.
- How: Use 16 pixels or more for body text and a line height near 1.5. Keep lines short, left aligned and in a single column on phones. Avoid long passages in capitals, italics or centred text.
- Check: In the rendered HTML, every body text element has a computed `font-size` of 16 pixels or more and a `line-height` of at least 1.4. The content column is at most 600 pixels wide.
