# Add structured data to orders and bookings

By Erik Bergstedt, Agent Wranglers. Updated 2026-10-20.

- Level: Optional
- Chapter: [Automation and agents](https://agentwranglers.se/playbook/email/automation-and-agents)
- Rule: Describe orders, reservations and deliveries with schema.org data in the email, so mail apps can show them as cards.
- How: Add JSON-LD in the HTML part, using types such as `Order`, `ParcelDelivery` or `EventReservation`. Gmail shows most of it only for registered senders that pass SPF or DKIM. Keep the same facts in the visible text.
- Check: Run the email through Google's email markup tester. It reports no errors, and the facts match the visible text.

Example:

```html
<script type="application/ld+json">
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Order",
  "merchant": { "@type": "Organization", "name": "Example Shop" },
  "orderNumber": "1042",
  "priceCurrency": "EUR",
  "price": "49.00",
  "acceptedOffer": {
    "@type": "Offer",
    "itemOffered": { "@type": "Product", "name": "Walking boots" },
    "price": "49.00",
    "priceCurrency": "EUR",
    "eligibleQuantity": { "@type": "QuantitativeValue", "value": "1" }
  },
  "orderStatus": "https://schema.org/OrderProcessing"
}
</script>
```
