# Prefer the patterns the industry knows

- Rule: Solve common problems with the patterns and libraries most developers already know. Invent a new pattern only when the known ones fail.
- How: Before a custom solution, check the framework's own way, the standard library and widely used packages. Name the pattern in the code, such as `OrderRepository` or `PaymentGateway`, so readers recognise it.
- Check: The review answers question 1 by naming the standard pattern, or by saying why none fits.
